More stripes

Over the last few years I’ve been working on a series of paintings involving stripes and the human body . In many ways , it’s difficult for me to explain exactly what I’m doing with these pieces but they are fundamentally a visual experiment , attempting to define the human form with the stripes . Some of the paintings have almost been portraits but , in this one I’ve used less of the model’s body (just part of the legs ) and tried to make the striped pattern do more of the work . Anyhow …. there’ll be more in the series if I can find models prepared for the indignity of clothing and wrapping themselves in stripes . Acrylic on board – 50x39cm
