Battlefield Rest

Battlefield Rest on Glasgow’s Southside started its life as a tram terminus before becoming a much loved Italian restaurant . It’s a beautiful and unusual shaped building that I’ve painted a number of times . This painting is acrylic on board ,  34×22 cm in size .

On the Edge

Another of my striped body series , painted during corona virus lockdown . The model is the long-suffering Jordan , perched on the edge of a stripe-covered sofa , so the title is both literal and a wee bit of a metaphor . Acrylic on board 90×76cm

Freedom in Dreams

We’re into the 6th week of corona virus lock-down and I’ve been working away in isolation in my studio . This is a painting that’s been on the easel for around 2 weeks and is now finished I think . Hopefully the title is appropriate .

Hannah with her tattoo

The first of a , hopefully , ongoing series of portraits of people and their tattoos . Hannah has the poem ‘The Call’ by Thomas Osbert Mordaunt tattooed onto her leg so I projected it onto her and incorporated it into the painting .
