On the Mackintosh stairs

During the various lockdowns and the enforced isolation over the last 11 months I’ve become somewhat reflective ( hasn’t everyone ?) and have done some re-visiting of many of my previous subjects . I was fortunate that my formative first impressions of Glasgow revolved around the wonderful Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed School of Art . I spent most of my waking hours in the building during the 3 months I spent as an exchange student in the city in the late 80s . I became very familiar with these stairs and returned to them many times over the years until the devastating fires that destroyed the building a few years ago . This couple are , I think , enjoying the annual Summer degree show . An event I always looked forward to immensely . This is acrylic on board
